Continuing to edit (and add to, write inside) the Jake Jones story. From chapter seven, here’s what’s “new” with the novella:

“So, when late summer slipped into a school schedule without relenting any of its heat, Jake had been, at first, relieved to see his school wasn’t a huge campus; in truth, it could be called a small school, the kind where the sports teams, one might think, would not be too competitive to make. His first thought, walking on campus, was a question: Could he make the basketball team? A bulldog deep inside his mind, like the bull in his body, Jake thought he could. Hoped he could: and he knew enough, instinctively, to know he needed to at least think he could. It being a smallish school did make him think he might just make that first team he’d ever made. It made him hope; it made Jake dream. He longed for making that team.

Then he discovered a new obstacle …”
