Howdy,
A couple of days ago I briefly mentioned back-to-back major park days for us.
One of the parks we visited as a family over the weekend was Coyote Point Magic Mountain Playground in the Coyote Point Recreation Area in San Mateo, and it was great. Kids had a blast, and it was fairly comfortable for the adults as well.
If you’ve driven into the Bay Area by way of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge at all, you’d recognize the spot as that place where you see all the windsurfers and crazy parachute surfing taking riders unnaturally into the sky.
Wikipedia has pictures and says: “Coyote Point Park is a 670-acre park in San Mateo County, California, United States. Located on San Francisco Bay, it is south of San Francisco International Airport on the border of Burlingame and San Mateo. … and is a good location for aircraft spotting and birdwatching.”
It was cool how close the jets came floating by, falling really but so peacefully from that perspective, as they descended for SFO. Jasper and Titus, and even Riah, were really taken by that. Impressive. Quite striking when you first see it.
We’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area with kids. Even though it’s a drive for us, we’ll look to get back there.
