Howdy,

The new stuff just keeps rolling in right now.

I’ll list a few things, but as I was thinking to say that this year has been full of a lot of firsts for our family, the thought came that we’ve been living a ton of firsts and witnessing new experiences for a long time.

Just starting at …

Sarah and I getting married. All new, and good. (It’s still good!) And it was around the time of new jobs. And our new life together in a new home grew into the move of “first-time home buyer.”

Then we had Jasper. And all those first when you’re loving and caring for a newborn, infant, squawker, floor-swimmer, sitter, talker, crawler, toddler, walker, water-swimmer, reader, translator, and all-around grow-er who’s known to run and jump and holler …

Then Ti. Now Riah. Reminding us of firsts again as they take their initial spin. Us, too; we’ve never had three kids before.

But back to the new now. This week simply has that feel.

Starting with Sarah closing a semester and taking new trainings.

Then Tuesday’s AWANA’s Award Night, the end of something but with a strong sense of next, because in the fall Titus is schedule to move from his graduated Puggles club to Cubbies, which is crazy, because that’s where Jasper began in his AWANA’s career, Cubbies.

That Tuesday night celebration rolled right into Wednesday morning and the conclusion of a season of Community Bible Study, and it proved a new and different week for the younger boys. Both Titus and Riah ended up having their CBS kids’ time in new “classrooms,” the rooms they’ll transition into at the start of next school season. And, it just so happens, that there’s a (pirate?) ship in the room that three-year-old Ti will be taking on. That ship looks like a pretty fun place to play, especially for those that aren’t in that room, and, now, Titus, is. That’s new, and exciting.

Finally, today, and the reason I slipped into this topic in the first place, Jasper has an open house event at school. Science Fair, Art Show, Book Fair, Open House, all new to this young(ish) family with a kindergartener plowing the way as eldest son and brother.

It’s also the hottest day of the year to date, so that’s new, but it’s not nice. We need to get used to the heat.

Other new stuff, however, watching the boys grow and journeying with them, is a great blessing and enjoyment, and Lord willing we’ll just keep rolling …
