Howdy,
So, funny, my post last night was a pegged prediction twofold.
It was true, and it was confirmed (and I was able to prove it, which was quite fun, I must admit.)
The ending were I wrote (as If I were Jasper): “I believe I’d also be saying that I’m excited for school in the morning — and that’s why I’m not falling asleep yet …” was perfect.
Perfect for the moment that was to happen.
So I posted to my blog, and about ten to fifteen minutes later Jasper wandered out of his bedroom and told Sarah that he still couldn’t fall asleep and started to offer some reasons why he thought that might be.
Sarah, brilliant as she is, countered, saying something to the effect of, “Honey, no, I think that might be because you’re excited about school in the morning.”
My ears perked right up when I heard Sarah steal my line almost word for word, and so that I could later prove that I hadn’t stolen from her (again) for my post, and called Jasper over and said, “Guess what, buddy? I wrote my blog post about you just now.” I kind of looked confused. “Do you want me to read it to you?” He said yes, and I said listen to this.
Jasper sidled up as I pulled my post up on my phone. Sarah later told me that Jasper totally lit up when I was reading my evening’s entry about him to him.
When I read to Jasper, “I believe I’d also be saying that I’m excited for school in the morning — and that’s why I’m not falling asleep yet …” he said, “You just wrote that. That’s what Mommy said. You just wrote that.”
“No, my post was about you, Jasper. I wrote this fifteen minutes ago.” I’m not sure if he was so sure, but he liked hearing it all the same, and I continued with, “I just think Mama and Papa know what’s going on right now. We’re glad you’re excited for school; now go to sleep, bud.”
Called it.
Sarah confirmed it.
So I know it’s good. Pegged to perfection.
