Howdy,

Our boys (whose don’t?!) love puddle jumping.

Puddle jumping: seeking, splashing, scootering, soaking socks, swimming in shoes. We’ve, no doubt, talked about this before, Jasper and Titus finding the deepest, widest water collections around and placing themselves and whatever they may be wearing or riding right in the middle of the depths.

This time (or right now, since I’m typing a few notes on my smartphone, which was similarly utilized for the photography in this piece — on the fly …) I took a walk with Ti, putting his Christmas-gift Crocs to work!

I must say we liked these new rain boots (Crocs Handle It Rain Boot) so much we didn’t hesitate long before jumping online (puddle jumping of its own kind?) to place an order, so just last night a bright green pair was delivered for Jasper; he’s wearing them at school this morning. Just in time to get some good use as this long rain pattern continues on …

And on …

And (for around here) on … which is FANTASTIC, to my mind and concern. Drought be drowned!

(I’m getting sprinkles on my screen as I compose, back to it in the afternoon: now with both older boys on scooters and in their boots, blazing Mini-Micro speed through cold, spitting weather. They wheel around and by in Granddad and G.G.’s cul-de-sac as wet blurs of blue and green …)

Beside a gulp of fresh air and a start of exercise, a bonus to a walk with Ti charging puddles like they’ve got a red cape is putting Riah to sleep in the pack — I figure we’ve got ’til about next winter before he’s on two feet and wheeling along on whatever he can sit or stand on in attempt to keep up.

Another bonus? Hopefully wearing Titus out a bit (hah! good luck!) so maybe he’ll nap a little too. (Editor’s note: he did nap, about a couple of hours worth.) Waking refreshed to attack puddles with his older brother, in their new boots on their two scoots. (Which we do know did happen, thanks to all these darn, distracting wonderful parenthetical bits.)

Stay dry! (Then go puddle jumping.)
