Howdy,
We made the decision last night. Sarah and I got a gift.
To give.
A decision for action, we pulled the trigger and purchased the boys a Christmas gift that they are going to LOVE!
GUARANTEED.
I have no doubt.
We got the gift for them, obviously. Right?
But I am excited. So excited about it. Excited for them to see it. To use it. To smile those big, genuine, pleased, and happy, grins.
The smiles and boys’ activity. So good.
I can’t tell you what it is yet, of course. Or at least I won’t. It’s a secret. One of those Holiday secrets that are the best. What’s weird, is that now I feel like you’re figuring it out — and I don’t know who to blame, me, for bringing it up, or, you, for being so nosey or so smart …
Shh, it’s a secret.
(No, even though the boys can’t read yet, I still won’t tell you before it’s time. Christmastime. Besides, Jasper, 6, is getting close. Actually, he really is reading. It’s fairly official now. He’s a whiz with words and he’s picking them off the page. Not blogs yet, but starting words placed out before him or even the world around him. And in two languages, you could say. Simple stuff, but, still, it’s cool to watch happening … WAY TO GO, JASPER!)
Back to Got a gift … ! I’m thrilled and eager because Jasper and Titus will simply enjoy this one so much, and Riah, too, someday if it lasts long enough. Hopefully it will. Though I can’t imagine it not getting its share of use — hard use — before Riah’s ready to really hold his own with it. The big bros will be breaking it in, pushing the limits.
Sarah researched awhile scouring for deals on this slam dunk item, studying options and opinions (what Jon Acuff says a writer should consider reviews).
It’s easy to shop and shop and not make the move.
But, with it on sale, we did it.
It’s on hold at a store now. Waiting. Which is what’s hard for me to do with this one.
And I believe I’m blogging about it because my excitement for them has me hardly able to stand it. It’s an experience worth recognizing. Also, it’s amazing being a dad, fantastic to have sons who’ll smile and play after their own excited shrieks or big eyes of surprise settle back down. “It’s mine?”
“Oh, yeah, it’s for you guys. Merry Christmas!”
I’m eager to go pick it up, and only a little weary of the assembly because those’ll be a good couple of hours. Good, as in a few+, and good, as in great — with our hands on the project as a final touch.
Options and opinions behind us, for this I’ll only be back online for YouTube assembling videos. It’ll be fun.
It’s the days of waiting to give the gift we got that’ll be the hardest part of this one now.

Reading. Writing. Living.
P.S. If you figured it out and my boys ask, tell them it’s a pony. They’ll understand.
Oh, this is fun.
